I'll have ten pieces for sale at this show. Scandals supplied each of twenty artists with ten 8" x 8" plywood panels on which to produce some art for the show. I decided to experiment a little by mounting my ceramic art tiles to half the boards and heat fusing on my canvas images to the other half.

Preparation has been a key effort with sanding the edges and three coats of gesso to provide a barrier between the wood and the art.

With a few more days to go until the event, I've got my hands full to complete mounting the tiles and canvas images in order to allow enough time to glaze the fronts.

I was thinking of creating pieces that could withstand the elements and be hung outside in a garden or on a patio. We'll see if this works out. Either way I'm looking forward to showing the pieces, helping raise some money for CAP, and seeing the other artwork.

My first gallery showing! Come see a showing of my art tiles and canvas prints on First Thursday in Portland's Pearl District. A co-worker of mine at PSU Library and her partner are soon to be parents and owners of Pearl Gallery and Framing where they've asked me to show my digital images.
