This shot was taken in my friend Tony's front yard. He helped me identify this Smoke Bush (Cotinus, aka Smoke Tree and Wig Tree). It had an interesting light from below as I captured a section that was in the shadows. While I often prefer to work in a square format, this one is the entire composition, un-cropped, as taken. This pine cone sat outside the door to my mother's home. I understand it came from Southern Oregon by way of a relative. I'm still trying to identify it.
